With previous digital fabrication projects, I have focused heavily of producing a product that is very practical and functional whereas with this paper I want to take the opportunity to express and play around with conceptual ideas.
I wanted to refer to first semester of digital fabrications and continue along the lines of that project, focusing on slotting joints to create a picture which also fitted into a sculptural piece.
The main digital fabrication technologies I will be engaging with is laser cutting, Adobe Illustrator and using Rhino 3D to help me create my project, as this is the software I feel most comfortable and confident with.
The deliverables I expect to have at the end of my final project is a sculptural and aesthetically designed wall decoration. Something I’d be happy to hang on my new walls.
